Where Creativity, Confidence & Skills Grow Together
About Kalkhi Creations
Kalkhi Creations is a welcoming art program for kids and teens ages 5–16, created to help young artists explore their creativity, develop drawing and painting skills, and grow in confidence.
Through small-group instruction and step-by-step guidance, students are encouraged to learn, experiment and express themselves at their own pace.
Our Story
Kalkhi Creations began with a simple idea: children should have a creative space where they can slow down, step away from screens and discover what they can create with their own hands.
I wanted to create the kind of art class where students receive personal attention rather than getting lost in a large group.
That’s why our in-person classes are intentionally kept to a maximum of five students.
This allows me to guide each student individually, recognize their strengths and help them progress at a comfortable pace.
Teaching Philosophy
Every student learns differently. With no more than five students per group, classes can provide more individualized guidance and time for questions.
Students can progress from foundational techniques toward more advanced artwork as their skills develop.
And because parents are an important part of that journey, personalized feedback can be shared about their child’s participation and progress, helping families see how their young artist is developing over time.
Meet the Teacher
Hi, I’m Shakana, the founder and art teacher behind Kalkhi Creations.
Art has always been a passion of mine, and I love helping children discover what they are capable of creating. As an Early Childhood Education student currently completing my ECE training, I’m also developing a deeper understanding of how children learn, grow and build confidence.
I created Kalkhi Creations to bring these two passions together — art and supporting children’s development.
My goal is not simply to teach children how to copy a picture. I want them to understand techniques, experiment with colour and materials, develop their own artistic abilities, and feel proud of what they create.
